Research:
High-resolution telescopes: We developed the open telescope principle for solar observations to get the best possible seeing for sharp images, see the website of the Dutch Open Telescope on the Canary Island La Palma Optical and mechanical engineering:
Special expertise in diffraction limited optical design and extreme stiff and still lightweight constructions for telescopes and instrumentation.
Applications in open telescopes exposed to the wind.
Designs of bearings and drives with special attention to precise motion, stiffness, low friction (no stick-slip risk) and compact design. In addition extreme stable towers, which bring the telescope above the thermal disturbed air layer near the ground.
Completely open foldable domes for telescope protection, which can be opened and closed in hard wind, and withstand heavy storms when closed.
